Your points make sense, but as before this is still not something we plan on supporting. I’ll move this to researching, but I don’t anticipate changing this in the near term.

Currently, you can hide a show from you calendar or progress page. Hiding from watched progress also hides it from your dashboard on deck. Hiding in those 2 places should work for most users.
This topic proposes a “dropped” status for a show. This would hide from the 3 sections mentioned above + add a “dropped” indicator in places such as the show summary page.
Add a check-in button on episodes listed in the sections «on deck to watch» and «progress» to make it faster to access.
Now this action is 3 clicks away, one on the episode, one on the check-in button on episode's page and a last one on the check-in confirmation button. Loading the episode's page is really unnecessary and wastes time on mobile broadband connections.
My suggestion is to add the check-in button on the poster listed under both sections to bring the check-in action closer in, at least, one step and avoid loading episode's page when not needed.
