Seems like there's also a massive problem with Trakt keeping in sync with TVDB removing whole seasons and shows. For instance, there are 4 shows for "Castle Rock" that got deleted on TheTVDB because it doesn't have an air date (TVDB mods don't allow shows that are rumoured/don't have more info).

There isn’t currently a way to support this. Will take a look in the future.

This would have to be a new preference in your settings. Potentially per show. For instance, you start watching a daily talk show, and want to continue and not watch previous episodes.

If you're passionate about this, you can contribute to Trakt's external sources for movies and TV. You can help improve data about movies on https://www.themoviedb.org/ and TV shows on http://thetvdb.com/
Trakt could definitely push this type of behaviour by asking for the user to add details and linking to the MovieDB or TVDB edit page when it finds missing data.
