Group list items by genre or year or other fields
Hi Justin,
I love the genre filters in collections and history, would be nice if there was like a submenu in Hide button for genres, if possible.
If not, it would be great (if possible) to add an option to group a list items by their type (tv/movie) or genre or year... etc, in the same way that history/collection item are grouped by days, using the separators.
Would be really helpful with mixed lists and watchlists. Please and thank you.
(also would be great if the sort options apply to each group's items, but I'm trying to not be greedy

Add bunch of movies to a list
I'd like to check how many movies I watched for an actor.
So I serached the actor and found his fimography.
But I can't filter those movies by watched or listed or collected like I do for a list, so I thought I could create a dummy list and add all his movies to it, but there is no fast method to do that. The only way is to add every single movie to the list, but for some prolific actors it could last forever.4 votes -
Wanted (in collection) / Wishlist
As many of us are indeed collectors, also focusing on collection automation within trakt.tv, people may want to differentiate further between stuff they like to watch (Watchlist) and what they actually like to collect (Wishlist - as seen and implemented in apps such as Movist)
Having a separate smart Wishlist, which is updated automatically as soon as items getting collected, may give us the best of two worlds, in addition reducing the management impact of the given Watchlist especially when it comes to bigger collections.

private profile public list
I have a private profile, but would like to make one of my lists public.
At the moment this doesn't seem to be possible. (Searches for the name of the list, already set to Public, does not return any results. If I go directly to the link of the list when logged out, what shows up is a message that the user is private, and not the public list.)

International Movie Release Dates
Though "My Movies" calendar is a great feature I can't make full use of it because not every film is released in the US and internationally on the same day. Now comes the hard part, because I don't know if you can do this, but it would be great and very useful if we could choose which country's release date we want to appear on the calendar, that way we would always know when we can actually go see the movie (anywhere and everywhere).

Let us choose if we saw the 'regular version' or the Director's Cut of a movie.
There are movies where the Directors Cut signifcantly changes the movie. Sometimes I saw both versions, sometimes only the DC. I'd like to add which one I saw.

Add personal status to shows via the progress page.
I would be really cool if users can mark/flag their shows manually, for example:
Watching - If the user is actively watching it.
Renewed - If the user has caught up and the shows is on break.
Airing - If the user has caught up and the show is airing.
Hiatus - If the user has caught up and the show is on midseason break or something like that.
On-Hold - If the user has paused watching the show but hasn't dropped it.
Dropped - If the user doesn't intend to watch any-more.

Add TMDB as an alternative to pull TV data
I've been using trakt a lot, I have a lot of different shows on my progress list, and recently I have started to notice that TVDB has some stupid rules, and don't allow certain shows to be added.
I propose that there should be a way for a specific show to pull its data from TMDB instead, that doesn't have those stupid rules, I don't know how hard that would be to implement, but since the website already pulls the data for movies from TMDB, I hope not a lot.

History & Ratings: View All / Infinite Scroll vs. listing in pages
When looking through my History and Ratings pages, I'd really love to be able to see the full lists on one scrollable page. It would make for a nicer UX and visualization of the data as well as allow one to use their browser's Find function to jump to any given movie in the whole list.

Create hide field to remove tv seasons which have finished but haven't ended.
I like to binge watch tv shows but I hate watching halfway through a season and realizing that it hasn't finished. The idea is to hide seasons/tv shows off of the progress page which haven't finished airing for the season.
4 votesWe usually don’t enough data to know that a season is still in progress or not. Usually episodes are added to the season as it progresses and not all up front. I’ll move this to researching so we can look into later if we get more accurate data.

Grouping movies into sets for your collection and list's
Sort your movies into sets for better organization. Movies sets are for sequels or movies that are otherwise apart of a directly related series.

TV & MOVIES : RATING CAST !
sometimes we fall in love with character in show average or below even so it would be great to rate charcter in the show for his performance , for example :
Eva Green from penny dreadful ,
Zach McGowan from black sails
Bobby Cannavale from boardwalk empire .. etcso all of asking is every show and movie has a cast and we can rate their character in this specific show ...

Lock lists
Allowing lists to be "locked". So a movie can't be added or removed from the film page. It can be annoying when a list is "complete" (ex. a film festival or the Top X from year Y) and by mistake I add a movie who has nothing to do in this list because I clicked the wrong one. It hold no sense to propose me to add the movie to a list when the list is "locked" or "finished"

Friends watched or followings watched ?
If I follow someone who's profile is not private,
I would be happy to see if he watched a movie/episode when you go on the movie/episode's page.
This only works if you're friends. But since the profile is public, I could go and check it manually. Which is a bit a waste of a time.

"Trash" for recently removed plays
Having just had an app delete an old play from last year when I thought I was adding a new one, I see a need for a "trash" where old plays go when removed for some time (14 days? 30?) before being permanently removed from the database. Often I can extrapolate the time of an accidentally removed play from surrounding episodes of the same show, but in this case that isn't possible.
I don't know if it's worth adding to the API, though.

View ended shows in a list
It's nice that there is a way to hide ended shows but it would be nice if there was also a way to view only ended shows in a list.

Graphically present timeline of watched/collected episodes
I think it would be cool and useful if the progress bars in the watched/collected screens was filled by what episodes you've seen, so that if there's a 3 season show, and you've seen season two, the 33% of the bar filled would be in the middle of the progress bar. Gives a nice one-look view of whether you are missing any of the latest episodes.

Web App / Offline Support
Today browsers are getting more and more features to really feel like normal apps.
One of the really exciting new features are Service Workers. They basically allow the caching of content locally which means that the website can even be opened without an internet connection (and loading the website in general would be faster and save bandwidth).
Along with some other features (like Push Notifications) the trakt.tv website could feel like a normal application.I guess it would be good to go in this direction because it's easier to enhance the website instead of writing 2 completely new native Android…

Provide an option between the default grid view and a simplified list view for your history
I want to be able to see all the shows/movies I've watched, at a glance, in a simple vertical list, rather than in a large grid. The vertical list should be sortable by title, date started, date completed, number of episodes watched, etc.

Group episodes of a show that are marked as watched simultaneously on the history page
Marking a season of a show, or the whole show itself, as watched will display each of the show's episode on the history page. Imagine that on a show with 200 episode that you had watched previously, for example. You mark this show as watched and then you check your history. You'll have to navigate through a lot of pages that display the show's episodes and it's kind of an unpleasant experience, especially when you want to review your watched history.
