Check-In description information
Nothing wrong with the actual check-in service. I've had good functionality with the features in v1 and v2 (post updated)
What I can't find on any page is how to access the description I wrote into the box under check-in. The fomatting for this box is usually
"I'm watching movie title (movie year)"
I'm capable of deleting that entire sentence and writing my own, or editing it to how I see fit. The problem is after I hit "check in" and look for that description I wrote, it's nowhere to be found.
Being able to edit it post check-in would be nice to have again, as I believe that was a feature available on the v1 platform. At the very least, I would like to be able to view what I wrote previously for all my check-ins, for all my movies.

Are there any plans to fast-track this since you you can't share to Facebook anymore?

Here's an article that explains all about social sharing: https://blog.trakt.tv/share-on-your-social-networks-3a5cd188772
In regards to the check in text, we unfortunately don't store that. It is only used when sharing with your connected networks. The main problem is in order to save that text, it requires a major backend update, due to how plays are stored. I like the idea, but it unfortunately is not a top priority because of this infrastructure change. When I last commented on this issue, we had plans to change how plays are stored on the backend, but we didn't proceed with that system and thus don't have the flexibility to store additional fields, such as the check in text. I can't say we'll never do it, but its not really possible right now.
As for sharing, we only share scrobbles and checkins and not previous watches. The reason being that previous watches are typically added in bulk and we don't want to spam your social networks if you add a whole bunch of content in a short amount of time. Since checkins and scrobbles are real time, they generate a lot less volume and don't spam your networks nearly as much.

Hello Trakt.tv community and reps
I'm having an issue in regards to the check in function for when you click on movies. Everything works fine, except I can't look back at what I wrote in the box. Normally I would be patient and wait, but I posted about this issue in March of 2015 (28 months). You can find the link to the post here:
In April (of next year), Justin replied:
"This will actually be a new feature, we don't currently save the text for checkins. (we didn't in v1 either actually). That text is used when sharing to your social networks. We're currently in the process of optimizing the history activities, so once we're done with that I'll be able to better look into the original idea of saving the check in text for display on the website"and the status was marked as "Planned" and still is to this day.
I posted about the same issue again 9 months later (because I did not get any reply for the 1st post until after this one was posted):
http://support.trakt.tv/forums/188762-general/suggestions/11060403-check-in
and Justin replied the next day:
"The original topic is planned and I’m still planning to look into this more closely. The message is currently only used when sharing to your social networks."So just recently, I tried playing around with the social network sharing capabilities, and couldn't even find where to post to social media (I'm on a laptop using the web-based version of the site, if this makes a difference). Not only that, based on some feedback from fellow Trakt users, it's my understanding that it only works with the check-in from a movie you're CURRENTLY posting, where as I'm looking for previous ones.
My first set of movies logged was in October of 2014. To the present, that's 3 years of movies invested into the website, that's not including the movies I saw prior and had the movies tickets for to put the information into. As you can imagine, the amount of movie tickets from then to now is massive. After about 50 or so, I could not keep them anymore. As a result, I added all the date information from the movie stubs into the check-in text (this was before the change date and time features were added).
I'm a loyal and patient member of Trakt since v1 and could not be more grateful for the service. I've seen other people's ideas come and go and be implemented into the system and work wonders and make people happy. The feature at hand is already in the system, and has been for many years. I'm sorry if this comes off as a complaint, I;m just growing a bit impatient and am hopelessly confused. Please help

This will actually be a new feature, we don't currently save the text for checkins. (we didn't in v1 either actually). That text is used when sharing to your social networks. We're currently in the process of optimizing the history activities, so once we're done with that I'll be able to better look into the original idea of saving the check in text for display on the website. For the location part, I plan to save that as separate from any note that is entered.
As for the task list, this uservoice board is what we have that is public facing. The different statues like "planned", "started", etc are how we keep track of that. If we have a more exact time frame, we try to indicate that. For the most part, things in "started" are tasks that are being worked on or will be once a some other tasks fall into place.

I've been trying to clean up some movie tickets and I wanted to add the theater names to the descriptions I of the check-in boxes. I mentioned how they're not able to be edited since the transition from Trakt.Tv v1 to v2 in March of 2015 here:
http://support.trakt.tv/forums/188762-general/suggestions/7327724-check-in-description-information
And again here in December
http://support.trakt.tv/forums/188762-general/suggestions/11060403-check-inBut this isn't really about that anymore. I just think it's a fair idea to know what's in the works BEFORE the updates apply. Sure some stuff should be a surprise sometimes, I guess. But I like looking forward to the changes to come. Cheers
