Let us remind ourselves why we added a movie to our Watchlist (with a note)
You're going to love this idea. Ok, so we're human, right? We have 24 hours in a day, 9 of those are spent working, and we get about 2 to watch a movie or some TV. We've all got way too many movies on each of our Watchlists, and many us, by the time we get around to watching some of these movies we added to our Watchlist, we've totally forgotten why we added the movie to it in the first place (why we were interested), especially when you added it for some reason like, a friend recommended it to you, or it's by a certain director you've heard was good, etc.
So my feature idea would be: let us associate a little note with the action of adding an item to our Watchlist. And make it easy to see that note while we're browsing the Watchlist. It'll help jog our memory why we were interested in watching the movie.
I don't think anyone has ever done this.

Cool idea, and I agree it would be helpful to know why it’s on your watchlist.

5 years later, we are still waiting for a very simple textfield.

I'd like to be able to add some private comments, notes that are useful only to me and don't need to be made public.
Thanks -

I add new films ro watchlist and I want to make some notes about each film I added
For example my friend advised me to watch some film because of some episode. So now I can't watch this film and I add it to watchlist. After 2 weeks I have free time to watch that film but I forgot why did I added that film here, to which details should I pay attentionSo It will be great if I'm able to make some notes or comments to any film I add to watchlist

As my time here has gotten longer, I have felt a much greater need for this particular feature. Sometimes I look at entries on my Watchlist and wonder what on Earth possessed me to put it there, and while sometimes it clicks into place as I watch, other times it won't and if the show was bad I can help but feel like I Punk'd myself. Life is hard enough without feeling like I'm kicking my own ass, so if this could get some attention, I'd be immensely grateful.

Agree, it could be a general purpose "note" field.
In this case I could not need this other request anymore, https://support.trakt.tv/forums/188762-general/suggestions/32804884-add-field-for-quality

It would be nice if we got the option of being able to add notes to a curated list if chosen instead of just being able to add text in the description of the list.

Meanwhile, I use diigo (https://www.diigo.com/index)
It allows, amongs many others features,
to add text, comments or reminders directly on any web page with sticky notes.a small yellow square appears on the left of the page.

Any update on this, Justin?

Would be great if you could set up tags that can be associated with TV Shows and Movies. This way you could also implement a filter.
For example, if you have a tag such as "recommended by xyz", you could quickly find anything recommended by this person. -

Totally agree.

I will probably hate this as it would only lead to me no longer watching movies on my watchlist that just have a 1 or 2 :/

Cool idea, but why only for watchlist and not for other personal lists? I would love to see something like this feature in IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls053770931/ . As you can see the author of the list added a small note on each entry which - that way you can get much more information :)

Maybe this could be made more generic so you can associate any kind of note with any movie or show, not just a note for when it's on your Watchlist. But when you do add something to your Watchlist, you are prompted to add a note for the item.
Some people may want to be able to make notes to themselves about movies or shows after they are finished watching them too. I would like to jot down some quick thoughts about a movie (without writing a public review) after I watch something, when the movie/show is fresh in my head.

Cool. Maybe the Movist guy can implement something that we can at least do on there. Like manually dragging tiles around.

This sounds like your other suggestion could handle this as well. There is also another task to offer "tagging" for items which would probably handle this request too. No ETA on tagging support, but it is something I want to look into.

This feature is needed, i have maybe more than 100 movies in my watchlist and for at least 50% i don't remember why i added those.
