Add Quotes or notes to the movies or tv shows you've watched
I think that it would be great if you can add quotes of a movie or show you want to remember (something similar seen on seenth.at) or you just simply found something interesting and you want to write it down for yourself (similar to the notes on goodreads)

I was ready to move to Trakt as my main way of keeping track of what I've seen, but not being able to add notes/reviews is a dealbreaker. Very disappointing.

This would be massively useful and would persuade me to sign up for VIP if it were a VIP feature.

what's been the outcome of the research? Seems like there's enough demand for the feature right? Even if it's VIP I would still want it. Or has this been ditched in favor of the "list notes"? I still prefer the idea of show notes that are not specific to a certain list.

2021 and this still hasnt been implemented, kinda sucks seeing that a lot of users are asking for it

I would love something like this. The only reason I'm not using Trakt is that I need this feature.

@Tieffre - I'm afraid I would not hold my breath. They have been "researching" this idea since 2014. :(

The implementation would just require a separate “detailed view” mode, which could even be selected from the list sorting order drop down, so it wouldn’t require any real aesthetic makeovers..
Though some are skeptical Trakt will actually put this in, I don’t see why not - seems overdue, considering how well other tracking sites (films, books, etc.) have implemented it and benefited from it.

This is also super important in cases where you have lists that need certain references for movies—these can also help users know something crucial about the film.
In addition, it can provide information on a streaming service that even VIP users can’t view through the Just Watch integration including favorites, as Just Watch is often lagging by days, weeks, or simply has cases where movies are either never removed from a service after expiring or never added after becoming available.
*Short 1–5 (perhaps 20+) word notes would be sufficient for everyone’s purposes posting here, it seems. See Letterboxd’s “detailed” view mode (list, as opposed to their default grid mode) for reference.*
Letterboxd has had this feature forever (with a little “view details” button at the top of any list; thus, it could be placed in the drop down list Trakt uses for list “sorting mode”).
Please add this. Will repost in VIP forums too.

+100 to this idea. I'd like to include a brief note about why I rated something the way I did and/or other notes about the show or movie after I've watched it.

This is a feature I really appreciate on other tracking sites (eg. Goodreads). I've watched a lot media and I often don't remember things, so it's nice to jot down a few thoughts that I can come back to and remind myself of how I felt about a show/movie.

I know this is an old topic, but I had this idea as well.
You could jot down general thoughts about what you watched and you could note who you saw it with. -

From earlier posts, doubt this will happen, but a private Notes field would be huge! Tags are insufficient if you want to make note of a cool scene or remind yourself of a partially watched episode or track clues by episode in a mystery series or show, for example. Just saying...

I second that. One might wanna scribble some quick personal notes without going public straightaway.

I, too, would love to have the possibility to add (private!) notes as well as tags.
