Privacy: hide watch times
I've had several friends complain about Trakt that altough they like being able to see what TV Shows and Movies other friends have watched, they don't like the 'time' being displayed.
They have no problem inthe information showing they watched XXX on Tuesday, but they have a problem when it also says they watched at 11AM.
Probably because of privacy issues. Maybe then don't want friends knowing they're at home watching TV instead of working, or at 3AM watching TV.
I believe there are lots of strong and compelling reasons to make Times an toggle, and user can decide to show them or not. I've had 3 friends block me already because of this.

+1 This needs top priority.

This needs to be a thing... I'd love to share my history and such with friends or co-workers but it could raise some questions as to why I am watching stuff during the workday sometimes.

This is still not possible?? I am going to quit my VIP-Membership because of that.
Trakt could be great as a social network for movies and show. But no friend of mine is willing to share the exact time of watched items. -

It's been 3 years. Can you give us any news about this?
It's essencial for privacy.

This would be realy good for privacy. At the moment it's really disruptive to me and my friends that other people can see exact timestamps of shows and movies we've watched.

I support this idea. I don't know what's the progress on it but I'd love to hear it!
It would be very good since my phone does not always sync the correct time of when I watched the series. So the time being inaccurate, plus me not wanting to get caught watching a series at 4am are the largest reasons.

Any news regarding this development?
I also agree with this comment: "At least hiding from the website is a beginning. Most of the people use the Website to track friends activity, leaving the API for more advanced stuff."

I do not care for privacy but I think it's just plain wrong when I mark a series as "watched" and it says "24 episodes watched on XX at Y o'clock. IMO, allow users to totally disable the time. For *me* only the day is important (and only for movies / episodes I watch in the future)

I find that the biggest problem is not that the time watched is shown, but that the time actually shown is incorrect.
Instead of using the local time watched, you are defaulting to what I can only assume is US time. Because it's telling my that I watched something at 7:20am when I know damn well I watched it mid afternoon, and later it says I watched something else at 2:30pm when I in fact watched it around 10:30pm. It appears to be 8hrs out... So I'm going to take a guess that you are US west coast based. :)
At first i thought it was due to the timezone not being set on the new version of the site... But after making that alteration it's clear that it has no effect on the times being displayed for watching items.

Could you give us an update on this, please?
This also ties in with the following topic, which has surprisingly stayed under the voting radar:
http://support.trakt.tv/forums/188762-general/suggestions/4938996-seen-date-should-be-uncertain-different-from-thBasically, it says that the time & date should be unknown when you add an episode via the "Seen" button (which, as it is now, is really superfluous).

privacy ought include
* hide watch times
* hide selected genres
* hide based on TV ratings (L, S, V, etc)
* hide premium channels (hbo, starz, mlb, etc)And be able to apply to everyone other than me, or apply filters selectively to those with whom our feeds are shared.
For an extra cookie
* share only genre(s)
* share only air channels
* share only WITHIN (a) time range(s)As I am not a consumer of "adult" media I would like options for myself to not-see others "adult" viewing habits. Additionally being able to apply the above filters myself to others shares would be helpful. Perhaps one would be interested only in others fantasy + scifi + adventure.

Are you able to see such detailed information about another person via the API? I for one do not care for specifics on what's been watched when. I only care to know what's happened somewhat recently...or perhaps even the last n items that they watched.

Some of my friends, have their 'bosses' as friends, and I guess when they call in sick, they prefer the boss not seeing the were watching The Walking Dead instead... of that they were up till 3am in the morning watching TV before a big meeting.
(probably the same way you appear 'invisible' on Xbox Live, so people don't know you stayed home to play games)
