Import from IMDb
It would be nice if there would be a function to import my imdb watchlist into trakt, so I don't have to do all movies manually

Thanks @James for sharing TraktRater. Will try!
Otherwise to the Admins - THIS IS A NECESSITY! I literally have thousands on my IMDB lists that I'd like to export/import into Trackt. Please, PLEASE make this happen, even if it's a VIP only function.

why hasn't this happened?

7 years from the original request and IMDB import is still not implemented. I am not paying money to Trakt until this facility is available

The only way I'll ever seriously try out Trakt is by enabling this feature.

You can export a watchlist from IMDB to a CSV file. Is there any chance that Trakt could support importing that CSV file?

Also amazed this isn't possible. I see Justin's comment from April. But API aside, IMDB can export a list to .csv. Can't trakt import that? There's a fair amount of information in the export, surely that could be used to match to a data field.....

IMDB doesn’t have a public api, so no we don’t already use it.

They still haven't added the automation YET?! it's funny how they use IMDB API to get the information...

How is it that you can look up an IMDB by it's IMDB number one at a time, but there is no automated way to do your whole list?

Also: perhaps it could be “IMDB users can import their watchlists by entering username #.
VIP: Import custom IMDB lists as new Trakt lists.” ?

Don’t think this is automated yet.. Elementum and other popular Kodi addons have both Trakt and IMDB integration, so maybe that’s why Jimmy and team haven’t put this as a priority.
*I used IMDB for 10+ years before I ever even heard of Trakt, so of course I’ve got a good, older Watchlist that I need integrated with my current Trakt.*
Since username is displayed in the profile url, I just meant a regular pull from the Watchlist (not any fancy list import, just a list of titles in the default user list)—that would be less complicated, I imagine?
Very strange this has 40 comments and is this old... or did I miss the fix for this?

I have voted for hundreds of movies and tv shows. I will not use trakt, if a have to do it again manually.

Is there any update on this? I see these ideas have been sitting here for a long time now!

On Mac, I found this Ruby script to be super helpful. I had completed my import from start to finish in about 5 minutes. https://github.com/yulrizka/trakt-imdb-importer
