Will Trakt ever decide to use TMDB episode information if there is none on TVDB?
I love trakt. And I love TMDB. I contribute a lot to TMDB and think it is much better of a site and a community and more user friendly than TVDB. I understand that TVDB probably has a more comprehensive database for series compared to TMDB (I think TV shows are only a fairly recent addition to TMDB). However, contributing to TVDB is much more arduous than to TMDB, especially when it comes to getting incorrect data changed. The TVDB forum is fairly dead and slow to respond, me as a user have no idea if they keep track of our contributions.
Anyway, is there any reason why Trakt doesn't use episode information (especially air dates) from TMDB if they don't exist on it's respective entry on TVDB? Could this happen (any time soon- i.e. in the next couple of years)?

Seems they'll be doing a lot more than that: https://blog.trakt.tv/tmdb-transition-ef3d19a5cf24

Lately, I have been working on getting Top YouTube Content onto the platform to mark off as when a Series on YouTube has over 100 Episodes and have other people doing the same series with even more Episodes such as Hermitcraft from people such as Mumbo Jumbo and Grian, It becomes hard to keep track of. So I look over to Trakt to keep manage of all my Show needs. If we got an Update that allowed TMDB Shows to be put onto Trakt it would help so many people out as it's an easier system than TVDB with quicker UI.
I am not saying we need to fully move over to TMDB as some people may prefer to use TVDB to upload content but if we could use TMDB as the main system for uploading content it helps out Trakt grow its library and also would grow the people editing on TMDB helping out two systems at once.
I know creating the system can be hard and if you did drop TVDB you could lose lots of content but if the system could be done in such a way that you just have an extra upload function for Shows it would help everyone out.

I have the same sentiment, but for so many lesser known TV shows - that is, non-English ones - the data on TMDB is absolutely terrible.

Elliot, aka 2Ls1T, you upload a lot of really low quality images and I'm thankful that TMDb removes them. I mean, someone who thinks this image is perfectly acceptable shouldn't be allowed to upload images: https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/aymMVAWKiscjat155baBIuIvBBw.jpg

I share your frustration about TVDB - it's particularly annoying when you make an error or someone has uploaded the wrong / a crappy episode image.
TMDB is at least better on that front - although the converse to that is I've bumped into a really draconian moderator on there who keeps deleting my images that would import to Trakt and are perfectly acceptabe quality IMO, and this is equally frustrating.

I'll have an update out this week to use TMDB air dates if they are blank on TVDB. I don't envision moving to TMDB completely, but rather use it to fill in missing (i.e. air date) or better (i.e. hi res screenshots) episode data.
