Community lists (or moderated lists)
Allow for lists to be moderated or have an option for a community list.
Moderated list: Allow an author of a list to add moderators. That would allow for the others to make changes to it. And as a further feature allow someone who isn't a moderator to submit an entry for the list. Examples of this could be a list for season previews, festival entries or genre lists.
Community list: This could be a list where everyone is allowed to submit one recommendation as for something like "community recommendations" or voting on lists; "trakt's favorite movie of 2012" etc.

I was a little surprised that there isn't a concept of shared lists for Trakt? I've got a date night list that I share with my girlfriend but given she also has an account, it'd be nice if we could independently add things as we think of them :)

Great idea!
When my wife wants to suggest/download a movie, it is a real shame she has to go through me. The delay and possible slip in her memory ultimately means we see more of the movies I prefer. With a collaborative list the would be more gender-equality in our movie catalog and less work for me :) -

I have an automated script which syncs and monitors my Trakt list and downloads tv shows and movies. Is there anyway to have other users add their own tv/movies to my public watchlist without giving them access to my account?

He thought a watchlist together with your friend would be good for the site. So both could share and watch their shows and movies and keep track.

Creating and sharing movie lists with friends or general - this can be either public, private, restricted with link, etc
The idea is that you can maintain a collaborative lists with friends, I find this a good way to suggest movies and to discuss about it within a certain group.
For example, I frequent some other forums and there always are an official thread where the users suggest movies... It would be great to have trakt as the official tool (they considered doing a google docs sheet which sucks since here we have all the movie infos + social)
Moreover, this would be a great way to bring many new users to the website and improve reengage

I would just call it community lists where I can choose for a privacy setting with every list I create.
For example you can say:
1. Me (just for me to contribute, like lists are now)
2. Public (open for everyone to contribute, everyone is moderator)
3. Custom (open for people I select, they will all be moderator), A moderator can also delete movies you add.Maybe you can introduce point 3 first and take next steps later.
