Search Prediction for the search box
well. im talking about search prediction like google has, when u type something and automatically the site suggest the rest of the search and the list is presented under the search box, its really missing, pretty easy to add (:

Categories for lists
Right now when you're looking for community lists you have to options to choose: Popular and Favorites. Since favorites are mostly good lists (of public interest), many of the other user lists are hardly worth anyone's time or a not supposed to be for the community but for their friends. To ease to process of finding some lists or what you're actually looking for categories would be a big improvement. These could then be chosen when creating a list.Proposed example categories:
- "Critics" or "Reviewers" / Lists by critics, review websites etc

Import watched status from Netflix csv
Hi, from my account in Netflix I can download a csv of everything I've ever watched and the date I watched it. It would be tremendous if I could import all that into Trakt. Even better if I import is more than once, it shouldn't duplicate - such that I can do it periodically.

International Movie Release Dates
Though "My Movies" calendar is a great feature I can't make full use of it because not every film is released in the US and internationally on the same day. Now comes the hard part, because I don't know if you can do this, but it would be great and very useful if we could choose which country's release date we want to appear on the calendar, that way we would always know when we can actually go see the movie (anywhere and everywhere).

Estimated Date/Time When I Will Catch Up/Complete This Show At The Rate I Am Watching Episodes
I have this as VIP since this is a little more complex but it would work fine non-VIP as well.
What I was thinking was that when you pull up a show's main page, it will show an estimate of when you will ether catch up or finish watching the show.
Here is an example of the math for it to work.... at least I think it works. But it should give you a general idea of how it may function.
Key:
b = Average time between episode plays for that show.

«On This Day»-tab
I love Trakt and would sign up for a VIP membership within seconds if an «On This Day»-tab was added.
In «On This Day» you could 1) see what you watched on this day the previous years and 2) show which movies premiered and episodes broadcasted on this day (not ALL movies and episodes, but the ones that is in your collection or viewing history).
I hope I explained this well enough to understand. Keep up the great work!

Import checked list from icheckmovies
As a new user who has found in love with this website (you guys rock!) one thing I would love to do would be to merge my checked movies into trakt.
I cant possibly force myself to go after over 1500 movies, so an import option would be ginormous good news for a user like me. Icheckmovies and maybe other sites provide export lists, so in theory it isnt to tricky.

Web App / Offline Support
Today browsers are getting more and more features to really feel like normal apps.
One of the really exciting new features are Service Workers. They basically allow the caching of content locally which means that the website can even be opened without an internet connection (and loading the website in general would be faster and save bandwidth).
Along with some other features (like Push Notifications) the trakt.tv website could feel like a normal application.I guess it would be good to go in this direction because it's easier to enhance the website instead of writing 2 completely new native Android…

IFTTT playback status and scrobble triggers
I would really like to IFTTT triggers such as:
- Movie playback started
- Movie playback paused
- Movie playback resumed
- Movie playback finished
- Movie scrobbled
- TV ep playback started
- TV ep playback paused
- TV ep playback resumed
- TV ep playback finished
- TV ep scrobbled
These could be used for all sorts of things such as triggering Hue lights to dim/turn off/turn on etc. during movie playback. Or adding the name of movies I watched together with the date I watched them to a Google spreadsheet.
Any chance this might happen?
I know there are RSS feeds but they do not work very…
30 votesI love the idea, but its going to take IFTTT wanting to do a deeper integration with Trakt. I’ve reached out a few times before, but maybe if users also message them it will get more traction.

Smart lists
I think it would be great if you could implement smart lists similar to the smart playlists in iTunes so you could create dynamic playlists with say actor X and actor Y in category Z. The playlist should automatically update when new content match the filtering.

Give everybody temporarily access to refresh data
Trakt switched from thetvdb to themoviedb as a source. I completely understand why. But now there are a lot of not 100% matching shows.
I'm trying my best to help update shows on themoviedb, so trakt has a reliable data source. But it would be nice if I can perform a data refresh in trakt to see if I updated the shows correctly, and there is a 100% match wit tmdb. I can't perform a data refresh myself, because I have no VIP account. I considered paying for a VIP account for a month, but that doesn't seem to be…

Sync data from letterboxd
I use letterboxd for movies, and trakt for television. But my profile here would be more complete if it added my movies as well. Doing it manually each time, doesn't really make much sense, but if there could be a way for those two to sync automatically that would be great. Perphaps by using IFTTT and the profile RSS feed from Letterboxd.

Follow a List
Would be nice, if there a way to follow a User List or import the list to the watchlist.
Sometimes we see great lists... but always need to return to the list to see non-watched movies, etc...

A way to import history from sites like Netflix and Hulu (and for PC users).

Prequels and Sequences of Movies
It would be a great idea if the developers could join the sequels and prequels of movies together. Like for Harry Potter series, if someone clicked Part 4 (Goblet of FIre), there should be a separate section in the page which shows Parts 1-7.Similarly, in the History tab, there should be a filter which shows the sequences and prequels of a movie series together.

Dashboard & Friends activity
One area where trakt currently is severely lacking is keeping up with your "network"/"friends". The number of people you can follow before the dashboard looses it's usefulness is probably a mere 3 users. Capping out at 12 recent items is quite harsh. A single casual user these days can probably nuke that feed in an evening alone (watching, collecting, commenting, lists, etc.). Going above that you can pretty much scratch that area of trakt. If you want to find out what certain people are enjoying you are forced to click on their profile AND "study"

Network activity - show friend's rating of item
Hi,
Network Activity panel on dashboard should show rating of item, that my friend watched/collected (of course his rating and only when item was rated).
It shouldn't be major change, but when I see that my friend watched movie, I would like to know his rating without visiting his (or movie) page.
I guess it could be mentioned by someone somewhere, but I can't find it, so I've decided to post it as new idea (if it's duplicate - sorry)

Dashboard recommendations
It would be great if the recommendations would be a bit random. When the same ones appear each and every time you log in, they become less "discovery" and more ignored. I saw other ideas on how to select them, which all would be nice, but I think that no matter the method, a bit of randomization / variety to them would be nice.
