2,522 votesCurrently, you can hide a show from you calendar or progress page. Hiding from watched progress also hides it from your dashboard on deck. Hiding in those 2 places should work for most users.
This topic proposes a “dropped” status for a show. This would hide from the 3 sections mentioned above + add a “dropped” indicator in places such as the show summary page.

I'd love to see some other media forms (manga, books, video games, etc.) on the site so I can track everything in one spot.

Embedded Preview Trailers For Movies and TV Shows
When browsing the dashboard or home page on trakt, I occasionally find some interesting movies or TV shows that I would like to preview.
I thought it would be neat and convenient if a user can hover over a poster of a movie or TV show, and be able to view a trailer straight from trakt without having to search for it on youtube or through some other media source. Bascially if a user, hovers over the poster and clicks play, a pop out embedded video of the trailer would start playing.

Watch a TV Show or Movie with a friend
Often times, I don't watch movies or TV shows alone, but with friends. It would be nice, if only one person would check into a movie/show and mark the others. That way you could not only track which shows/movies you have watched, but also with whom.
If you would like to make things more complex, you could link a foursquare profile to your trakt account and check in (movies/shows) those friends who are checked into the same venue as you are. But that's maybe over the top ;)

Find users with similar tastes and a high compatibility rating
kind of like the "neighbours" feature on last.fm, you get suggestions on who to add as a friend (people with similar tv show/movie taste to you) based on the tv shows, episodes and movies you marked as seen.

[idea] "My Top 10" default user list
What do you say about a list called "My Top 10" that every user has by default.
The max count of items on that list is 10, no more.Use case could be a page like http://trakt.tv/movies/popular where the most favored items of all trakt members are displayed.
This way we could narrow the many thousend of popular items to a top 100.

Add "where" and "with" fields
It would be nice to be able to indicate where and with who has been seen a particular movie/episode. In particular:
[1] Every "watch date" should have its "where" and "with".
[2] In the "where" field I can write what I want.
[3] In the "with" field I can write what I want or add a trakt user.
[4] If in the "where" field I enter "Sunshine Cinema", this place is automatically saved in a specific "Places" page, in which I can add/delete/edit all the places.

Group episodes of a show that are marked as watched simultaneously on the history page
Marking a season of a show, or the whole show itself, as watched will display each of the show's episode on the history page. Imagine that on a show with 200 episode that you had watched previously, for example. You mark this show as watched and then you check your history. You'll have to navigate through a lot of pages that display the show's episodes and it's kind of an unpleasant experience, especially when you want to review your watched history.

Check in from progress and other pages
I think it would be great to be able to check in or mark as watched from the progress page. Maybe icons under the Next episode name.
I find myself spending a lot of time on the progress page to find the next episode to watch, and it would save a lot of time if I didn't have to go to the episode page to check in.

Privacy: hide watch times
I've had several friends complain about Trakt that altough they like being able to see what TV Shows and Movies other friends have watched, they don't like the 'time' being displayed.
They have no problem inthe information showing they watched XXX on Tuesday, but they have a problem when it also says they watched at 11AM.
Probably because of privacy issues. Maybe then don't want friends knowing they're at home watching TV instead of working, or at 3AM watching TV.

Sometimes I want to exchange ideas with a user and can not. You could also put a message box or a small part "hidden" so that we can communicate. How about?

[idea] check items on friends lists
Lets say I am on a movie page, and I click on "lists" I'll get for example here: http://trakt.tv/movie/thor-the-dark-world-2013/lists
The given navigation elements are: "Personal" "Official" "Watchlists" "All" - of all members of trakt.
On those pages it would be fantastic to filter JUST the list of friends (or people I follow) - so I could see if he/she already has it on his/her watchlist or any personal list.That way I don't have to recommend it anymore, when he/she knows it already.

Add personal status to shows via the progress page.
I would be really cool if users can mark/flag their shows manually, for example:
Watching - If the user is actively watching it.
Renewed - If the user has caught up and the shows is on break.
Airing - If the user has caught up and the show is airing.
Hiatus - If the user has caught up and the show is on midseason break or something like that.
On-Hold - If the user has paused watching the show but hasn't dropped it.
Dropped - If the user doesn't intend to watch any-more.

Everyone has characters that they like or don't like. It would be nice if we could say "Like" or "don't like" so we can see which personage is loved or hated. Maybe add an option to tell why you love or hate them

Add Quotes or notes to the movies or tv shows you've watched
I think that it would be great if you can add quotes of a movie or show you want to remember (something similar seen on seenth.at) or you just simply found something interesting and you want to write it down for yourself (similar to the notes on goodreads)

Show what shows/movies you both watched when browsing someones profile
Like on the Website MyAnimeList. When visting the history page of someone elses profile it would be cool to see a little statistics on top which shows how many shows/movies you both watched or rated the same.

Import movies/shows from another account
Add the ability to import in your account history, from another account on trakt, the selected movies/shows/episodes with the same watch date and the same votes.
