1. Ratings Hide Watched/Unwatched

   To help find item i have rated but not watched could you add the option to hide Watched/Unwatched items in the Ratings page. like in the history page you can hide rated items to find items you have watched but not rated.

2. Make 'Data refresh' available for everyone (improves it for everyone ;)

   Hi,

   so I changed some shows in TMDB. I guess I could now manually refresh it in trakt. Wouldn't it make sense to allow this for everyone? Currently, I would have to inform you (or support) and they do it manually... if you could just tell all wrong show info complainers to go to TMDB, fix it and they just hit refresh when done, you will never have to fix something manually ;)

4. Adjust "up next" episodes to be selected as earliest unwatched episode for people skipping around a series.

   TL;DR: If I've viewed some episodes from season 1 and some from season 7, let me choose my "next episode" to default to the earliest unwatched episode (season 1) rather than the current default of the latest (season 7).

   Shows without a plot (i.e. documentaries, sketch shows, etc.) are quite often watched out of order. For example, here's my viewing of ESPN's 30 for 30 series.

   As you can see episode 3x03 is "up next" but I still have quite a few episodes before it in season 1 and 2 to watch. The true "next" episode for me to watch is episode 1x10.

   I'm not sure if it's feasible to have the option to roll back the "up next" to the earliest unwatched episode in a series instead of the latest, but it would be quite helpful.

   There isn’t currently a way to support this. Will take a look in the future.

5. Provide a Simplified Tracking Option

   There should be an option in the settings menu that allows users to choose the tracking level they desire (for example, a dropdown list called "Tracking Level" with the options "basic", "standard" and "data nerd").

   When a user sets their level to basic, they will not be required to record watch dates and can view their lists without any indication of the watch date. This will essentially simplify tracking to a watchlist, watched history, collected and rated. The only date visible could be a "date added" which simply indicates when you added it to a list in Trakt.

   Reason for suggestion: When first signing up to Trakt and wanting to add a backlog of films and tv shows I have already watched to my history, the idea of entering the date that I watched them is pretty daunting and just defaulting to release date, although providing a quick option, then makes all of your statistics feel wrong and the way in which lists are sorted by watch date really plays on any glimmer of organisational "OCD" you may have. I want to take advantage of the features in Trakt to track all the things I have watched and all the things I want to and to be able to quickly add and move items around in these lists. Having access to show schedules and upcoming releases is also very handy, however I am reluctant to get stuck in as I feel like I can't get my history right. The dates have essentially provided a barrier for me to using the service regularly.

6. Divide the watchlist in pages

   The watchlist is just one page and with around 800 films let's say I could watch all those films before the page loads.

   Why can't the watchlist have pages? Like 100 items in the 1st page, 100 on the 2nd and so on.

   I had to create custom lists to serve as "new" watchlist because the watchlist is unusable. Yes I can hide tv shows or movies but the page is so heavy that my browser often crashes before it loads. And with around 800 films just hiding the tv show doesn't make the page lighter.

7. Season Posters

   I think there should be system so we can upload and vote for seasons posters or movie posters, for "perfect" customization. Maybe a vote system once a week for VIPs or all users? Mainly i have 3 matching posters for 3 seasons for Fargo. A harmony in all banners and posters would be "great!" interface for Trakt.tv!

8. Synchronize with iTunes and iOS watched status

   I watch movies and series episodes on my Mac or iPhone, and would really like to sync my watched statuses to Trakt.

10. Dashboard up next to watch little bug

    Hi,

    There's a little bug in the count progress of the up next to watch (i'm on GMT +1). I'm pretty sure it's related to the time zone has I know it will display the good progress later in the day.

    I have "Tomorrow" as upcoming start day for "Upcoming schedule" and there's always a time gap (i'm not sure exactly how much time) between when the show disappears from the upcoming schedule and it appears in the up next to watch part.

11. Add a custom filter to progress page

    I personally watch 40-50% of my shows with my other half, and would love to mark shows as such so I can filter to shows only I am watching on the progress page.

    This seems a little specific, but we can revisit in the future.

12. Allow unknown watching date

    i'm a Trakt noob. when my favorite iPhone app completely shifted over to using Trakt for their backend, i had to create a Trakt account if i wanted to continue using it. so i did.

    recently i learned that the Trakt website lets you also track Movie's & such too (yes, i had not visited the actual website until recently); so i began to explore the site & thought i'd start filling in what i've seen & wanna see etc.

    i was astonished to find that i could NOT add any movies to the "History" & "Collection" areas without providing a date & time. THAT's HORRIBLE!!! how the hell do i know when i first watch "The Princess Bride" or "Aliens" or "Braveheart" etc etc etc ?!?!?!?!

    surely this can't be so, so... i dug in a little to the support pages - only to find that the Trakt people have made an intentional decision to NOT allow us users to add vids we've watched &/or own without requiring the date & time of such watching/buying! this is INCONCEIVABLE (pun intended) in my opinion!

    to me, this renders my utilizing this service/site useless!

    but, since this site SEEMS to be the best option to track both tv & movies, i would like to make a plea to the owner(s)/developer(s) to make the date/time part optional. or, if you can't conceive of how to do that (for some weird reason), then put an "unknown" or "i don't remember" option in the date/time sheet.

    i read on one of the other posts linked below, where Founder/Admin Justin Nemeth said, "We don’t plan on supporting an unknown date right now since everything is key off of dates" - if that's true, then perhaps you can program in a hidden date/time for database purposes; or just add the date/time of the "Add to..." action AND having an optional date/time of watched/seen option for the users to use if they want to (and if they remember the date/time of when they saw it). all that to say, i bet some creative out-of-the-box thinking could figure out a solution.

    now, i spent all this time to try, search, read, & write this but i do recognize that i could have missed something somewhere to render this post a stupid waste; and if that's so, then my apologies!

    Your points make sense, but as before this is still not something we plan on supporting. I’ll move this to researching, but I don’t anticipate changing this in the near term.

13. Sensitive touch screen

    When using a touch screen, the trakt website in general is too sensitive for scrolling/ navigating. We have to pay close attention to where we put our fingers and how to scroll.

    Example: When swiping my finger up to scroll down, suddenly trakt is loading the page for the movie I saw yesterday. Or when I scroll through the movie section, suddenly I've added a random movie to my watchlist; sometimes I don't even notice until afterwards.

    Thought at first this was a performance issue, and it very well might be, but this is seen on iPad, iPhone, android phone and tablet, with varying specs. You know better than me what the cause is, but as I see it, if it is a performance issue, then it is not connected to hardware, but rather website optimization.

14. Secondary Sort of Progress or Other Areas

    We use most episodes left as the sorting method for watched progress. When the same amount of episodes are left there doesn't seem to be an order those are sorted by. The main issue comes when shows are 100% completed. It would be nice if they could be sorted by some sort of method at that point. Specifically I would like them to be ordered by the ones with the soonest next episode air date and the ended shows in the way back. I hope this all makes enough sense.

15. Split time watched across days

    Over the last few months, I noticed that I've become really obsessed with finishing watching things before midnight local time to avoid messing up my dashboard graph with stats that appear on the "wrong day".

    It occurred to me tonight, after yet another movie finished just after midnight, that actually, software can solve this problem.

    I propose that Trakt take the timestamp and duration of each item played into account when generating graphs, such that if (as happened tonight) I finish a 126-minute movie at 0:03, 123 of those minutes still appear in the graph for the previous day, and 3 of them appear on the same date as the play.

    One could nitpick this and say the split should be 122 and 4, for example; I've no preference either way there. I can also see potential objections with regard to the genre & play type counts that appear on the graph: Does "1 movie" have to become "1 movie" + "1 movie", for example, or does it become "0.95 movie" and "0.05 movie"?

    Whatever the answers to those (and other) questions, I think this sort of commitment to statistical accuracy can only help in the long run.

    Cool idea to make things super accurate. I suspect this is not an easy or quick change, so we’ll revisit in the future.

16. See aggregated friends ratings / activities / collections

    It would be great if /network section would not (only) be a list of people in your network, but an aggregation of activities of everyone in your network.
    To be able to see what my friends have been up to, find what they have rated highly (find recommendations). Going to each friends /history/ page is not nearly as fun for that ;)

    Alternatively perhaps in search filter in addition to "RATED" filter there can be "FRIENDS RATED" filter to achieve a similar result.

17. Add Season Finales Date

    Hello,

    Everyone knows it would be extremely helpful if trakt highlighted the season finale episode. However, I understand you don't have where from to get this information automatically.

18. Button to report Duplicates or other Data Errors

    I believe that a button for reporting erroneous duplicate or registered titles would be good! For I have seen several series registered as movies and personal giving checkin anyway. And with the button would be easier to report, rather than being created topic here.

19. RE: Option to hide adult movies from search and site overall

    I've already opened a ticket about this (closed now) but if we're gonna just do it manually then it's going to be quite the long list. So here's what I'm suggesting...

    Since the issue here is TMDb's definiton of what constitutes an 'adult movie' (most of Tinto Brass' filmography is not marked as such, while most people would describe his movies as "porn but, like... with dialogue") a middle ground can be found in the tags of these movies (which makes them appear in the recommendation sections and search). So while, say, Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens is not marked as 'adult movie', it still has 'sex', 'explicit sex', 'erotic movie' in the tags.

    The problem is that some of these tags are used by legit movies like Shame and 50 Shades (though there's an argument to be made there lol) and blocking the movies based on tags could mess with people's libraries. So i'm suggesting again an option in user settings for those of us who want to just omit them from search and suggestions and any other place they would appear, and if one clicks on one of their links a page would tell him that this is an NSFW movie.

    I still think this feature should exist at least to be enabled by default for underage users.

    I'm only posting this again because it's surprising how often one encounters these movies even when they don't seek them out, You'd be looking at a european movie (most of them contain nudity, occasional sex scene) you scroll down and here's 5 softcore porn suggestions.

    An alternative suggestion is to make the recommendation engine ignore these tags in its process.

    I'm not a prude or anything, it's just something one would rather avoid if possible, would you agree?

20. Add "where" and "with" fields

    It would be nice to be able to indicate where and with who has been seen a particular movie/episode. In particular:

    [1] Every "watch date" should have its "where" and "with".
    [2] In the "where" field I can write what I want.
    [3] In the "with" field I can write what I want or add a trakt user.
    [4] If in the "where" field I enter "Sunshine Cinema", this place is automatically saved in a specific "Places" page, in which I can add/delete/edit all the places.
    [5] The places in the "Places" page are automatically suggested when I set the "where" field of a specific movie/episode.
    [6] If in the "with" field I enter John", this person is automatically saved in a specific "People" page, in which I can add/delete/edit all the people names.
    [7] The people in the "People" page are automatically suggested when I set the "with" field of a specific movie/episode.
    [8] In the settings should be added a privacy option to restrict the visibility of these fields ("Everyone", "Only Friends", "Private").

    Interesting idea, I think we could tap into foursquare or facebook for the places database too.
