Track how an episode was seen
I think that it would be nice to have a feature for tracking what channel or from what streaming service did you watch something. Also, on films you could track at what cinema did you watch the film

List display
Would be nice to have different displays for lists, similar to file explorers:
- the actual one (thumbnail, title, rating...)
- details by columns: title of the movie, director, rating... (NO image)
- only titles14 votes -
Provide an option between the default grid view and a simplified list view for your history
I want to be able to see all the shows/movies I've watched, at a glance, in a simple vertical list, rather than in a large grid. The vertical list should be sortable by title, date started, date completed, number of episodes watched, etc.

Disable rating for movies and episodes that won't be released in a month (or longer)
I know you declined this for all movies and episodes that haven't been released, because you're not sure if the release date is correct, but could you at least disable it for more distant release dates? (not including episodes with missing dates)
If you enable rating about a month before something's released (maybe earlier if that's necessary), you should be able to know if the exact release date is correct, right?14 votesUnfortunately this is still very hard to predict with earlier online premieres and different release dates around the world. I’d like to do this as well, so i’ll leave it to continue researching.

Give lists a type, then use that in filter and search
Lists would be a great way to find new shows to watch, but when searching for a show in lists, most of the results are of the 'shows I've watched/want to watch' type and therefore not helpful.
If lists had a category attribute, (For instance: Best Of, Favorite, Watchlist, Watched, Personal, Recommendation) and that category could be used to filter search, then the results could, eventually, be much more helpful.

A more personalized and complete list (Like MyAnimeList)
What i find really annoying with using trakt, is the way you have to seperate shows or movies into seperate list for your personal "status" on that show (Like i need to make my own list for shows that i have dropped, have on hold or have completed (and you have the default Watchlist for shows you want to watch.))
So what i think would immensely help organize our shows/movies, is to have a more "Complete list" of every show/movie and their own "Status", like they do on MyAnimeList. (Or we could just have a new system of "tagging" shows,…

Add a way to flag duplicates directly from item pages
Would it be possible to add some way to flag duplicates directly on the site?
For example adding a link "this is/has a duplicate" next to the "refresh data" that open a pop-up where you can enter a link to the duplicate/original of a movie/show, maybe even a comment if details are needed.
It would be easier and quicker for user to inform you about them and you could even see the links that are flagged more often and correct them first. It would reduce the number of support messages and make duplicate/error signaling accessible to the less curious of…

Up Next To Watch: use a list as a queue
Hi
I have a suggestion for the dashboard, a new section or an option to choose between my watching progress or a custom ranked list that would function as a queue of sorts.
Obviously this is going to be a little tricky to implement because of the different types of items (movies, shows, seasons, episodes) but it would be very helpful not just as a queue but also as a tool to track the watching order of some shows. For example, I could close the X-Files Essential Episodes and have the first 6 items of that list show up in…

Search for show(s) in lists
As a way to find new shows, and compatible users, it would be great to be able to search inside lists.
The current list search seems to find list names, not content in the list.
A couple of regular language examples:
"Show me lists that have The Hidden Fortress"
"Show me lists that include Star Wars and The Hidden Fortress"11 votes -

After signup, optimize new user flow to add all the movies I've seen
The first thing I want to do after signing up is to add all the shows and movies I've seen. This isn't really accommodated very well with the current flow. I would expect the option to view all movies in the db (with various sort options - alpha numeric at least). I'd also really expect the option to hide all movies I've seen from all search results (featured, trending, full list, etc.) to help me get it done. Since I'd want to add literally thousands of movies to my Seen list (valuable data that you want me to enter), you…

Create a folder/list of lists
I like to keep my series/doramas/animes/variety or reality shows organized by status (currently watching, dropped, priority, freezer etc), but my lists get a bit messy since they're all mixed up.
If I could create different folders for each, I think it would make things easier. And I know it sounds like a feature not many people would use, but it's worth the try.
Thanks anyway.

I'd like to be able to ignore users
There are certain individuals writing WOTs for the lamest of episodes imaginable without saying much on a regular basis, or people deliberately spamming the comment section with multiple (different) >1k character comments (but 0-1min timestamp differences).
I'd like to set a user to be ignored to not see his/her reviews and shouts (or replies). It's greatly annoying to see that a recent episode has like 6-9 comments in total whereas 4-6 are from the same person upon expanding the comment section.
Or see yet another review talking hot air about redundant, petty things for thousands of characters, pretty much without…9 votes -
Sort by air date of next episode
It would be cool to have, in the Watched Progress & On Deck, the option to sort by "Next episode to air", so that one can easily see which series needs to be caught up on the fastest.

"Trash" for recently removed plays
Having just had an app delete an old play from last year when I thought I was adding a new one, I see a need for a "trash" where old plays go when removed for some time (14 days? 30?) before being permanently removed from the database. Often I can extrapolate the time of an accidentally removed play from surrounding episodes of the same show, but in this case that isn't possible.
I don't know if it's worth adding to the API, though.

Add the possibility to hide watched hour
Hello Justin,
It would be awesome to have the possibility to hide the watching hour of a TV Show/Movie.
I currently have my profile public meaning that any person can know what I watched and also what hour was that.
You might not want your boss to know that you spend the morning watching movies, hehehe :)
In my case the info is being added from Plex using the Trakt extension.
Thanks!! :D

Split time watched across days
Over the last few months, I noticed that I've become really obsessed with finishing watching things before midnight local time to avoid messing up my dashboard graph with stats that appear on the "wrong day".
It occurred to me tonight, after yet another movie finished just after midnight, that actually, software can solve this problem.
I propose that Trakt take the timestamp and duration of each item played into account when generating graphs, such that if (as happened tonight) I finish a 126-minute movie at 0:03, 123 of those minutes still appear in the graph for the previous day, and…
